the public to join in a community groundbreaking of an affordable housing development at the intersection of Carter Drive and McConnell Drive in Lyons. The celebratory groundbreaking will be co-hosted by Summit Housing, the developer, at 10:30 am on Friday, August 5, 2022. Governor Polis, Congressman Neguse and representatives with the Colorado Department of Local Affairs (DOLA) and the Division of Housing are expected to attend.

With natural disasters like wildfires and floods on the increase, questions arise about what your insurance covers as a result of damage from these events. While coverage on these two can overlap, this article will concentrate on flood insurance, since this week we are remembering the Great Flood of 2013 which hit Lyons in September. Here are a few things to consider…
On September 20 at 8 a.m., the Colorado Department of Transportation will close Colorado Highway 7 between Mile Points 23 and 29.5 for permanent flood repairs. The closure of CO 7 (Lower) Canyon will remain in place through Memorial Day 2022. — learn more details and see the map
