Lyons Wins Two Home Games
The Lyons boys basketball team returned home for a league match up with the Clear Creek Golddiggers on Friday evening. Hoping to build on their momentum from last week’s dramatic comeback win in Longmont, the boys welcomed back some much needed help. Junior center Jordan Valente returned from an ankle injury, and senior guard Isaac Roberts, returned from an extended illness. The two would both provide the starters, who played nearly every minute of the last two games, a little relief.
Lyons Girls Basketball traveled to Denver Christian on Tuesday, January 21, at less than full strength. Senior Starter Hannah Paton was ill and could not make the trip. Her absence proved difficult to overcome.
Throughout the close affair, the Lions played solid half-court defense against the Warriors, limiting them to difficult outside shots and off-balance contested drives. It was Denver Christian’s transition game that proved to be their greatest strength.
The Lyons High Girls Basketball team sits at 4-6 (1-2 Mile High League). The team features senior captains and starters Alora Cross and Hannah Paton, along with returning all-conference guard junior Avery Joy, junior point guard Jazmyn Enny, and returning starter, junior Hannah Schweiger.
