OCTOBER 2024
We’ve got lots of fun events planned at the library this month to help you unleash your creativity.
The Library is excited to welcome Staci Bernstein back to the library this month for a three part series on Basic Alterations. We will meet once a week for three weeks beginning on Thursday the 10th from 10a.m. to noon. We will cover essential sewing and altering techniques to help you learn how to redefine your wardrobe. We need at least six people to sign up in order to move forward with this program so please RSVP if you plan to attend.
Our monthly Afternoon Art gathering is for all ages (children under 8 must be accompanied by an adult). This month we are making macrame ghosts and pumpkins. We are meeting on Monday the 14th from 3-4p.m. Please RSVP so we have sufficient supplies available.
Continue your creativity with Bread and Poetry on Thursday the 17th from 6-8p.m. This month we are excited to welcome Radha Marcum to Bread & Poetry. She is a Boulder-based poet whose work explores changing landscapes, personal loss, and the wonder that accompanies us across the threshold of grief.
Calling all gardeners for a Seed Swap and Save at the library! Join us for an autumnal celebration of Fall while we share information about gardening, plant varieties, each others’ projects and swap seeds! Bring your own seeds, or we will have some to use. No experience required and all ages welcome.
Explore multimedia expression with us during our monthly Nature Journaling Club meeting on Saturday the 19th from 11am-noon. We begin with a prompt at the library then venture out for a short exploration of Lyons. Participants are encouraged to bring a journal as well as writing and drawing utensils to sketch, write and observe nature. Sign up here to receive email reminders or text ‘nature’ to (970) 645-5101 to receive reminders via text message.
The Association of Financial Educators is back at the library this month with a program all about Social Security. We hope you’ll join us on Wednesday October 23rd from 6:30-7:30pm as they cover many important topics related to social security to help adults be more prepared. RSVP here to receive email reminders about this event.
As always, we have Baby Story Time on Tuesdays at 10:30am and All Ages Story Time Wednesdays at 10:30am.
Friday the 18th at 6pm is a teen movie and game night. Come watch a spooky movie to celebrate the season with snacks and friends! Registration is required.
The Tween Book-to-Movie Club is reading the first installment of A Series of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket. Pick up a copy of the book at the library before our meeting on Tuesday the 29th at 3p.m. We will have a short discussion of the book and watch the movie!
We hope to see you this fall at the library!
