Business News: two moves, a renovation, and new health care
HJB Designs, Holly Beck
Holly Beck has opened a new shop at 440 High Street (which is the back space of McCann Real Estate). You may recall that she had a beautiful, successful shop on Main Street, that got destroyed by the Main Street fire.
“Brian McCann has been very helpful and gracious as I was rebuilding my shop,” said Holly. “I have perfected a handful of designs that I am ready to take orders for in a variety of color combinations and metals. As I build up my inventory I will be doing pop-ups at this location along with other artists/retailers in town. Other than the pop-ups, I am available ‘by appointment only’ to design ‘your’ next leather piece. However, I welcome people to stop by to say hello and check out my new shop if you’re in the neighborhood. And, I will be offering a series of glass etching and leather workshops for all ages in my space. Keep an eye out on Facebook for the events.”

Spirit Hound Distillers
Spirit Hound Distillers is continuing in its extensive renovations of its property. They already opened, months ago, their Timber Bar on the north side of the building, which adjoins the big, covered patio, and the new parking lot. Next is the Grand Opening of the south/front “original” bar, with special programs. It is currently open to the public from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday thru Tuesday; and 11 a.m. to 9p.m. Wednesday thru Saturday. The Original Bar now has a 3-sided bar and seven tables, with the bar being the focal point of the room. They have food trucks stop by, mainly on the weekend, or during programs.
Their guideline is to have the bar officially open the same weekend as their annual World Whisky Day. The Grand Reveal will be May 17th, and the whiskey event will be May 18th. Both bars will eventually be connected through an easy walkway (and not the many-stairs “maze” it currently has).
We will have a full article about the big changes that are happening, including their new automated grain handling. They are working on more whisky production inside, and more storage outside.
Lyons Health and Wellness
Lyons has a new health care facility. Their mission at Lyons Health & Wellness is to achieve vitality and balance and create a happier and healthier life for you. They offered both tele-health and in-person appointments. They are currently in the building next to Moxie’s, and will be moving into Lyons Physical Therapy offices, as of May 1st.
Lyons Health & Wellness was founded to provide care above and beyond what today’s healthcare system can offer. Megan Foreman will spend time getting to know you, addressing your specific health concerns, and helping you achieve all your health and wellness goals for the future. She is fluent in functional and traditional medicine, nutrition, mindfulness, and truly connects with every patient on a personal level. At Lyons Health & Wellness, you’ll find the comfort and support missing from modern healthcare while we create a personalized, comprehensive, and holistic plan of care just for you. Together.
“I moved to Lyons in 2018 after living in Boulder for 12 years. I frequently came to Lyons from Boulder to kayak, trail run and mountain bike,” said Megan. “I was very drawn to the community feel and wanted my kids to grow up here in Lyons and was very excited for the opportunity to move when it came up. I remember the medical clinic that used to be where the Dental office is now, and used to dream of working in that clinic and living in Lyons. Since moving to Lyons, I have noticed the lack of local medical care options for residents and had been thinking about how I can help for the last few years. I am happy to now be in a position where I can give back to the community and provide local medical care services to the residents of Lyons.”
Megan graduated top of her class from the University of Northern Colorado, where she earned her graduate Masters degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner. Megan has 18 years of healthcare experience and started her career in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at the University of Colorado Hospital. Her experience is extensive, and she has cared for patients of all ages in Family Practice, Urgent Care, and Student Health care settings.

Plume & Furrow was mainly a flower nursery and florist, while operating on Lyons Farmette for five years. It was convenient to buy bouquets of flowers from their “trailer” in front of the Farm. Their “outdoor studio” was expanding so much that they needed more space, and it was not available at the Farmette. They have now moved to a bigger location in Longmont at 1100 Francis Street. .
Their message: We LOVE Lyons, and we will still be present around town, growing some flowers at the Farmette, doing wedding work at the beautiful outdoor venues, and supporting other local businesses. We will no longer be selling flowers out of the Flower Stand, but exclusively out of our new shop. You can preorder your arrangements for pickup to guarantee availability. We couldn’t be happier to continue doing what we love… We hope to see you soon. With gratitude, Kim, Grant, & baby Phoebe
The shop is open Tuesday-Friday 10-6 p.m. and Saturday 10-4 p.m. Come and grab (or preorder) a signature Wrapped Market Bouquet, Prom flowers, or Mother’s Day bouquet.
EDITOR’s NOTE: Lyons Recorder asked them if there would still be a flower-and-vegetable farm at the Farmette, and they replied: The Farmette managers Garrison and Ryan plan to take over the fields to continue the work of flowers, veggies, and herbs… it’ll be as beautiful as it’s always been!
