Three years ago, the world was experiencing a 2nd wave of COVID
November 1, 2020 — three years ago this week,
I posted the following text:
We’re not the only ones with a SECOND WAVE: === Over the weekend, three countries, Great Britain, Germany and France, announced new total Lock Downs, for as much as a month. England Prime Minister Boris Johnson said, “THE VIRUS IS SPREADING EVEN FASTER THAN THE REASONABLE WORSE CASE SCENARIO OF OUR SCIENTIFIC ADVISORS” Britain still has Europe’s highest death toll from Covid-19 with more than 46,000 fatalities. The complete lockdown of the UK, bans people from leaving their homes or meeting in groups of more than two people.
=== President of France, Emmanuel Macron, said “(France has been) overpowered by a second wave…We are having 40-50,000 new identified contamination cases each day.”
=== Belgium is small but has the highest # of cases per population with 101 people dying out of every 100,000 people.
=== and With coronavirus cases surging throughout the United States, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced Saturday that most travelers must now get Covid-19 tests before and after arrival in the state. or face 14 day quarantine.
=== in CO we are now exceeding the bad “bump” that we had in July, DAILY cases jumping — Oct 30- 1,800 new cases, Oct 31- 2,924 new cases.// US 85,000 new cases in one day.10/29.
=== in the USA = 9,191,159 have been reported since Feb. 29. — Deaths equal 230,419. The WORST in the WORLD.–
Update November 2, 2023
COVID –
in the last week, four adults, and three kids, that I personally know in Lyons have come down with COVID!
=== Cases of COVID-19 are high in 14 states, and Colorado is one of them according to new data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Cases are highest predominately in the West North Central and Western U.S. – drawing a line on a map of the US: from Montana/Nebraska down to California/Arizona, and east to Kansas/Missouri. Experts are saying that cases are likely to rise further over the winter months.

(note, each week’s statistics are not static, but updated daily)
for week ending
10/28/23 — 596 (subject to change, the collected info is as of 11/2/23)
10/21/23 — 1,011 deaths by COVID-19
10/14/23 — 1,143
10/7/23 — 1,265
9/30/23 — 1,342
8.7 percent of COVID tests across the U.S. came back positive in the week ending October 21
Please note that in most cases you need to schedule an appointment, whether it is at your doctor’s office, or a drug store or supermarket. Some places have experienced a shortage of the vaccine.
You may want to check with your insurance company to see if you are covered. Some smaller companies are slow in updating their software, and you may have to pay the $165 out of pocket and get reimbursed later. Some try to sneak in a charge for administering the shot; but you can usually call and get that reversed. Contact LEAF or Boulder County Aging if you have no insurance and see if they can get help for you. Even SALUD Clinic which deals mainly with low-income and uninsured people sends out invoices automatically.
In Colorado, it has been a constant upward trend in increased cases, since August 1, 2023. See LINK to Colorado Statistics. There were 3,555 cases reported this week.
