Poet’s Corner: Knowing what I know
EDITOR’S NOTES: We are publishing this poem for Halloween week because of what will be most people’s initial reaction to it — but the verse written by the photographer gives the viewer pause for thought — don’t judge a book by its cover… don’t assign emotions and names, fears and prejudice immediately… be open to the beauty of the World.

I can’t help it
knowing that I know,
what I know and that
I feel like I feel
it’s so near yet far
because of the complexity
of the issue yet precious
to me and I don’t expect anyone to
understand it but it’s so beautiful
like if the hand of god manifested
and specifically made it for me
