Local author invites kids of all ages to come in PJs to book signing/talk

What would happen if people stopped telling bedtime stories to kids? Who would be affected? “The Bed That Ate The Nightstand” is a tale of story time ceasing to exist after all the kids grew up and went away.
A whimsical, slightly frightening story, about a sad bed, gone mad because Grandma and Grandpa Figgerly stopped telling bedtime stories after the kids grew up. The bed, called Big Beddy, is forlorn at the emptiness in the room. How will the Figgerly’s rescue the situation?
But wait! there are bonuses for the readers, tucked inside the book. You will find recipes and songs. Who thought of this clever idea? Our own Lyons “butter maker” (Bella La Creme) and “singer” Shauna Lee. Come to the book signing talk, and she will not only enthrall you with the story, but she will be serving the food mentioned in the book, and performing the music.
To set the stage, there will be a full size bed, and a giant book. There will also be blankets, sleeping bags, pillows and comforters on the floor, so come early and pick your spot.
The three recipes that are listed in the book in the “intermission” section will be served –Grandpa’s Story Time Stew, Grandmas amazing cornbread, and homemade sweet butter.
“So, don your best jammies, bring the children and grab your inner child because we are going to have a large, silly time of it,” said Shauna. “And, I’ll be giving away some of my fresh, home-made butter to the first 30 people buying the book. It is the same recipe that is contained in the book.”
Register for the Friday, October 13, 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. program.
