Poet’s Corner: Flow

I pride myself on being a keen observer of the human condition. The words provide a unique way of looking at life and an avenue to process the sometimes unseen, unrealized and perhaps unwanted situations. My verse is based on the beauty, irony, love, humor, and hardship we all encounter on a daily basis. I have been writing poetry since college and thanks to the late, great Kunga, I came out of the poetry closet as a member of the Lyons Itinerate Poetry Society (L.I.P.S) around 17 years ago. For the past 13 years I have been contributing poems to the Lyons Recorder and Boulder Weekly. Influences include Rumi, Hafiz, Charles Bukowski, Billy Collins, Jack Kerouac, Hunter S. Thompson and J.D. Salinger. I am grateful to have two college age sons who I learn much from. And, to live for 19 years in such a spectacular, genuine, caring community-Lyons Colorado.
