Lyons Elementary Receives Prestigious National i-Ready Award

Lyons Elementary School has been recognized with a national i-Ready award for exceptional Stretch Growth in reading. This places Lyons Elementary among an elite group of only 13 schools in Colorado and 171 schools nationwide to receive this honor.
i-Ready, an innovative educational technology program, is designed to support personalized learning for students in grades K-12, focusing on English Language Arts (ELA) and mathematics. At the core of i-Ready’s success lies the Growth Model, comprising two essential growth measures for students: Typical Growth and Stretch Growth. While Typical Growth reflects the annual growth for an average student, Stretch Growth highlights the progress required for a student to be on the path to grade-level proficiency. This approach fosters transparency and sets higher expectations for students, empowering them to achieve their full potential.
To qualify for the i-Ready Super Stretch Schools award, schools must have a student population of 200 or more, and at least 55% of their students must reach Stretch Growth in reading. Stretch Growth attainment is a significant milestone that sets students, who were below grade level on their initial i-Ready diagnostic assessment, on a path toward proficiency. Additionally, it helps students who are already performing at or above grade level maintain advanced proficiency levels.
Lyons Elementary Principal Andrew Moore expressed his pride and gratitude for the Lyons Elementary community, saying, “The i-Ready Super Stretch Schools award is a testament to the dedication and hard work of our school’s staff, students, and families. This achievement showcases our commitment to providing personalized learning opportunities tailored to the unique needs of each student.”
This well-deserved recognition highlights Lyons’ commitment to fostering a dynamic and enriching learning environment where students can flourish academically and personally. As the district continues to lead in innovation and growth, this award serves as a testament to its unwavering pursuit of excellence.
