Hooligans win in a tight 16 to 15 score. Congratulations!
Hooligans Team Captain Dan Bruckner was delighted, and said, “The Hooligans have been in the league since its inception before the flood. We’ve had many ups and downs throughout the years, but through it all we’ve always made sure our hair looked good. This year our hair looked incredible and a few other things fell into place for some unknown reason – hitting and defense. Those things paired with fun opportunities to play with our kids, against our kids, and the community support each week made for the best year ever for this league. We would like to thank Lisa (Ramsey), the Town of Lyons, everyone that kept the fields in great shape, the umpires, the fans, and all the teams in the league for a great summer. It really was a dream come true for us.”
Chris Cope, league’s on-the-ground coordinator, said “A huge monkey off the back of the Hooligans as they finally finish the job. One of the two original teams that came back after the flood, tired of being the Lovable Losers of the league as they were from 2007-2013, the last three years have seen them bulk up their roster. The previous two saw them fall short down the stretch, like the Texas Rangers in August or the 20/21 Avs. But this year they brought in some key additions, namely a human vacuum cleaner at SS, to finally break through. But not before high drama, being down 15-6 to an impressive St Vrain Market team who had already beaten them once this week. Aggressive base running and a close play at the plate completed the rally to win 16-15.“
Player Deb Simms added, “In all honesty, it really was Dan’s shorts that provided the greatest distraction and entertainment! Great season Hoolies!”
Player Jill Jacob said, “Love it! What a great season for everyone! How lucky we all are to have such lovely people in such a beautiful place to play such a fun game. Proud of us all, but especially The Hooligans!”
The Town of Lyons Recreation director Lisa Ramsey said, “The championship game was one for the ages. Great job Hooligans!”

“Some of you have been asking about possibilities for fall and we would like to offer a fun tournament,” said Lisa Ramsey. “You can find the details under Adult Programs, along with a link to register here:
