If there ever is an emergency in town, or timely news needing to be distributed, you can trust the Lyons Recorder to put it online immediately.
Did you get out and have some fun over Memorial Day weekend? We could FINALLY see a blue sky on Thursday! We Colorado folks aren’t use to not getting our 300 days of sunshine in.
But on the other hand, the Urban Corridor, down to Denver got a “serious” rating on May 1st from the federal environment people (and that was before the SMOG!). I’ve put together an article about this. It also shows the results of a study of oil-and-gas effects vs. vehicles.
Speaking of getting outside, don’t forget to check out the art festival this week, and the Bee festival… the same day. Plus the Garden Tour in two weeks. What a fun town we live in… we don’t even have to leave our town limits to have such fun!

===NEWS YOU CAN USE===
WEATHER: Finally blue skies, and weather in the 70s. The predicted “chance of storms” resulted in just a few episodes of dark sky and rain. And more of the same as we enter June, and the official summer season.
YELLOWSTONE RANCH – for you tv fans of the show, Hugo, Colorado has a rodeo coming up, and it’s publicity agent sent me the following information: Some of the contestants at this year’s Colorado Championship Ranch Rodeo may look familiar to “Yellowstone” fans, that’s because the infamous 6666 Ranch Rodeo team will be competing this year. The legendary 6666 ranch (Four Sixes) was established in 1870 and spans over 260,000 acres, so large that it stretches into four counties, making it one of the largest ranches in the Lone Star state. Some of the filming for the TV supershow has been done at the 6666 Ranch, and featured many of the ranches working cowboys as extras during filming. For more information on the Colorado Championship Ranch Rodeo, visit Colorado Championship Ranch Rodeo June 23-24 (I have put this in our Things to Do weekly column, if you want to refer back to it in the future).
SCAM: Newest ‘money machine’ scam. The bad guys will damage the part of the machine that you put your credit card in, and force you to use the “tap” function with your card. Then when you walk away, they come forward and take out money. Remember to SIGN OUT of your account
Lyons Arts LAHC — Easy Breezy – sign up on our EVENTS page… Add any arts-related / artists’ happenings / music coming our way onto this calendar for a one fell swoop ‘arts of all ilk’ goin’s on compilation for Lyons! LINK: https://www.bouldercountyarts.org/…/lyonscreates/…
UPS delivery problems? – sometimes they will deliver SMALL packages to the post office, who will put it in a box (including Pinewood). But if you want confidence that it will be delivered to your door, Byron Selman has a suggestion: UPS will do that with small packages that USPS can deliver. It’s going to add a day to your delivery. For $20 a year you can join the UPS program and specify that they always deliver to you and not use USPS. For me, it’s well worth it. Just for not having to drive the 16 mile round trip to the PO every time a large box shows up.
