Lyons Artisan Market brings opportunities to take a leisurely stroll thru Bohn Park

What a great combination of being out in the fresh outdoor air, walking along a path near the St. Vrain River, and browsing booths of arts and crafts!
The Town of Lyons will host its third annual Lyons Artisan Market from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, June 4th, in Bohn Park. Back by popular demand, the event features local creatives selling their creative wares along the beautiful St. Vrain River.
As the town celebrates its recovery from the devastating floods 10 years ago, this event will showcase how far Lyons has come post-flood and the amazing recovery this small town has made. When the floods came through, Bohn Park was completely destroyed. Now, through the restoration process, the park showcases Lyons’ river corridor and trail system with access to redeveloped ballfields, a picnic pavilion, a skatepark, a playground and a bike path, all situated along the gently flowing St. Vrain River.
Known for its unique art and local artists, the Lyons Artisan Market will feature thirty-five area artists offering everything from textiles and wearable art to pottery, jewelry and more. The booths are laid out along the shaded path through Bohn Park. There will also be barbecue samplers, craft beer by Lyons’ own Oskar Blues Brewery, and root beer floats available for purchase, with proceeds benefitting the Lyons Community Foundation. Local musicians ‘The Blue Canyon Boys’ will also delight market shoppers from 1-3 p.m.
Metered parking is available just footsteps away. Free parking is across Second Avenue, next to the Recycling Center. Bring a blanket or lawn chairs and enjoy sitting by the river, or near the band. Children will be delighted to spend time in the new playground, or take their equipment for a spin on the skate/bike ramps. Stroll the path and enjoy the outdoor art sculptures. Bump into old friends and neighbors and catch up on what happened over winter. Make a day of it!
GOOD OLD DAYS
This event is a fundraiser for the Town of Lyons, Parks and Recreation. It basically takes the place of the decades long Good Old Days festival and arts and crafts fair and parade that took place at the end of June during the town’s good old days. The Town and the Historical Society would collaborate on the event. The Lyons Redstone Museum will have a Good Old Days program on Saturday, June 24, on its front lawn, as is the tradition; and will name Mr & Mrs Good Old Days. Mark your calendar. The Town of Lyons will not have an event that day.
