More than 100 Lyons students honored or got scholarships at annual event

This past week we held an incredible High School Awards Night in our state-of-the-art auditorium as we honored over 100 students receiving recognition for academic and athletic honors in addition to awarding a record high $45,900 in local Lyons scholarships.

The grand total of all of the scholarships awarded to the Class of 2023 is $329,150 and still growing, as many scholarships are still rolling in. We are so proud of our seniors as well as our 9th-11th grade students who earned awards and honors. These students are the Pride of Lyons!

Hilltop Guild Scholarships ($5,000 in total) 
Created a new memorial scholarship in honor of Barb Coles, a member of the guild that passed in March of this year.

The Marjorie McCulloch Memorial Scholarship: Cole Thomas
Hilltop Guild Scholarship: Henry Jones

Mr. LaVerne Johnson & Mrs. LaVern Johnson Memorial Scholarship ($4,900 in total)
Because this is the first year of a Mr. & Mrs. LaVern(e) scholarship and to honor their parents, the Johnson Family had decided to give all seven applicants a scholarship to help them to achieve their dreams.
