For one day April 8 you can apply for a passport on a Saturday
NOTE FROM EDITOR: There have been numerous postings on the “Lyons Happenings” Facebook page that people are having problems getting their passports through the Lyons Post Office. Their appointments are often cancelled at the last minute. The reason is because the branch is very short handed, and if there is not enough staff that day, passport application appointments are cancelled. The post office manager is not authorized to make a public statement, but, off the record, she has been trying to remove the responsibility from the Lyons branch until they are able to be fully staffed again. Facebook posters said that they have gone to other branches and had it done swiftly; so, please do consider checking for other locations.

The Larimer County Clerk and Recorder Recording Department is a one-stop shop for passport
processing in Fort Collins and will be hosting a special Passport Day from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, April 8, 2023.
“This is especially unique because an appointment is typically required for passport services during the week. Making an appointment on a weekday can sometimes be challenging for working families,” said Larimer County Clerk Angela Myers. “We’re hoping this extra Passport Day will ease that challenge just a bit.”
Any citizen (from Larimer or not) who needs to obtain a new passport, can come in during this
special event – no appointment required – and have the photo taken and passport initiated all in one trip. This event will be located on the first floor at 200 West Oak Street in Fort Collins, in the Clerk and Recorder Recording Department.
Parents obtaining passports for their children must both be present with the child.
Two separate payments will be required, and one must be by check or money order. Go to larimer.gov/US-passports for all the details.
Remember, once the passport process has been completed here, it is then sent to the US Department of State, where the passport will be issued from. For questions pertaining to these services at the US Department of State visit: state.travel.gov.
