Sights of Christmas around town (photo spread)

The Town of Lyons added many hundreds more lights this year in Sandstone Park. It helped make up for not having the fireworks, due to the year-round risk of wildfires in Colorado now. Thank you for your hard work in creating such a beautiful central park illumination!

The seasonal, joyful lights continued into downtown Lyons. Both the Town and the shops added some Christmas cheer to Main Street. Cindy Grundmeier took this photo just as the big freeze and snowfall started Wednesday night, December 21st.

Lyons Emergency & Assistance Fund (LEAF) brought cheerful noise to Main Street. They had food boxes, including hams or turkeys, for all the people who were on the list at their Food Pantry. They also opened up to the public with a children’s choir of Christmas carols. And, handsome Santa Claus greeted residents, old and young. The walkways were decked with boughs of greenery and bountiful red ribbons.

Several locals trotted on over to Gateway Realty on Saturday December 17th for the annual “PAWS with Santa” event. Duke is almost three, and he is a pitbull/bulldog mix. He is a rescue dog. And, happy pal Zack Boggess is 18, and enjoyed the meet and greet. — Photo is by mom Natalie Boggess.

We thank local Neal Dunfee for capturing this spectacular image of his lighted Christmas tree on his deck during the pink sunset last week.
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL, AND TO ALL A GOOD DAY!
