December 1st — first day to register your child for kindergarten. See the school web site for more details Informational meeting on December 15. – While Preschool Registration will not open until sometime in January due to recent legislation regarding free PreK for 4 year olds, families outside of our school area or district and Kindergarten families can fill out the online forms NOW. December 1st – Talk on “Frank Lloyd Wright & The Prairie School” in Longmont — cancelled due to illness.
December 3, 8 – 11p.m. – Spirit Hounds end of Prohibition Party – Spirit Hound Distillers is turning 10 years old! To celebrate this milestone we are hosting a costume party in the spirit of repealing prohibition. We will meet at Spirit Hound after the parade and fireworks in Lyons for an experience that will take you back in time. We will have live music, a food truck, and specialty cocktails for the evening. We will also host a costume contest where you could win a bottle of our first barrel, a $300 value. (shuttle available)
December 3-4, 10a.m.-4p.m. Annual Holiday Artisan Market (formerly known as Christmas Bazaar) See CALENDAR page. Great unique Colorado crafts (no foreign, mass produced stuff). Visit from Santa at 2p.m. In elementary school gym.
December 3, 6:30 – 8 p.m. – Parade of Lights, down Main Street. Lyons Community Church will be offering chili supper 5:30-7p.m. Foothills Church will offer drinks/and cookies. See CALENDAR page
December 4, 10a.m. – 5 p.m. Craft Bazaar at Museum of Boulder. Admission fee. Join us for a fun, festive winter day! Come support local artists and their crafts while sipping on OZO provided coffee and hot chocolate. The admission fee includes one warm beverage, a seat at our custom ornament crafting station and access to all Museum exhibits. $8 – $10
December 4, 1-4p.m. Annual Lavender Ball LGBT elders – The Boulder County Area Agency on Aging (BCAAA)’s Rainbow Elders program is hosting the 22nd Gala. This event features a three-course lunch hosted at Nissi’s Entertainment Venue and Event Center in Lafayette. Entertainment will feature “Gender Illusion Technician,” Mrs. Eda Bagel and dancing with DJ Susie Pringle. This is a celebration of and for the LGBTQ+ older adult community of Boulder County and allies. Tickets for the event are $10 plus fees, and can be purchased at boco.org/2022LavenderGala.

December 9-10, and 16-17 – two weekends – 6 – 8 p.m. 8th Annual St Vrain Christmas Walk. Along the St Vrain Ranch Community Walking Path, Longmont (Sage and Saddleback) Hot Chocolate and Apple Cider, and unraveling miles of lights.
December 10-11 – Christmas handcraft gifts and crafts – Longmont, Boulder Fairgrounds
December 10, 1-3p.m. Regenerative Small Business workshop, with Shauna Pick and Katie Dittmann. Thinking about starting your own business? Get some practical business foundation advice. Location: Lyons Library. It’s free, but you need a ticket.
December 12, 12-4:30p.m. Lyons SENIORS (55+) bus trip to the movies! We’ll enjoy a private matinee screening of “The Fabelmans” directed by Steven Spielberg. December 14 – Dec. 14: See the Decorations! – The historic Callahan House in Longmont – Open House from 4-6:30pm on Wednesday, Dec. 14 for those who want to see the holiday decorations.
