Call out for floats, and details on Holiday parade and craft fair

The bright glow of the holidays returns for the weekend of December 3rd and 4th in Lyons.
ARTISAN MARKET======
Be sure to check out the Lyons Holiday Artisan Market on December 3rd and December 4th from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. at the Elementary School Gym.
==There will be visits from Santa Claus from 2 – 4 p.m.
==These items are mainly hand-crafted — not mass produced foreign knick knacks. Some local nonprofits will have booths, such as the school and the museum.
==The Lyons museum will have gift items, as well as history books for sale. They will also have a large, 2-story, miniature “Oklahoma farmhouse” up for Silent Auction, by Anne O’Brien. There will be no LaVern’s Famous Never-Fail Fudge for sale.
==As of this week, there are still a few VENDOR spaces available. Contact Kim Mitchell at Town Hall for more information, or go on the town web site.
PARADE======
The “Starry Starry Night” themed Holiday Parade of Lights will be a moving festival of lights and floats traveling along Main Street through the historic downtown, beginning at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 3rd.
==There will be no fireworks this year due to it now being “year round fire danger;” and we are connected to Open Space where fire ignited recently.
==We anticipate that the Foothills Church will have cookies and drinks available.
==The Lyons Community Church will bring back its free community chili dinner, during the Parade of Lights on Dec 3rd…the lower level will be open and chili will be available for everyone starting at 5:30pm. until 7:30 p.m., or until they run out of chili. Stay a while; warm up, and socialize.
==TRAFFIC: The Town will be blocking traffic for “staging areas” along Old St. Vrain/also called Old Main, and most of High Street, located between 2nd and 3rd Ave. All four streets will have No Parking signs. (Residents have been asked to not park on the street if possible). Police will be barricading Main Street (also known as Highway 36) and High Street (no traffic allowed) during the parade, and guiding Highway 36 traffic on alternate routes. No parking signs will be up from 4 to 8 p.m.
