Silent Auction, Dollhouse

Silent Auction: October 13 to 22: This amazingly detailed 1950s house is a very authentic historical representation of life at that time. There is also a complete story written out for each of the characters in the house which fully brings them to life. The house is currently on display at the Library. Bidding will start at the Used Book Sale. The winning bid will be announced at the end of the Saturday Night Radio Theater Show.
It was created by Anne O’Brien, a former resident of Lyons. Several of her dollhouses were on display at the Lyons Redstone Museum for two years, and were highly popular. It has a thick booklet that goes with it, describing each character’s background in delightful detail.
Additional Ongoing News
Ongoing Used Book Sale
At the Library, used books are always available on the special bookcase to the right as you enter. There you’ll find a mix of adult and children’s gently used books from recent donations; plus DVDs. Every Wednesday, Friends Board members Sara Erickson and Ellen Hine can be found at the library sorting through used book donations. Most are $1 – 5.
Tuesdays are the ideal day for donations. Please limit to no more than one box of books at a time. Please refrain from donating damaged books or obscure titles. We love to receive late editions, popular authors and books on topics of general interest such as gardening, cooking, travel and art. Children’s books are also greatly appreciated.
