Mom bear and two cubs enjoy splashing in a tub, video (Stone Mountain)

Robyn Sloan shares clips from her wildlife cam on Lyons Happening, Facebook pages throughout the year. She shared these videos of a mom bear and her two cubs experiencing the cool waters that Robyn and her husband put out for the wildlife, during the 95 degree days. They go out each day and fill the “guzzler.” Thanks Robyn for sharing these fun videos, and letting us share them with the “greater Lyons audience.”
This is located about three miles northeast of Lyons “as the crow flies,” in the Stone Mountain back acres. Robyn put the guzzler out August 5th, and a dad and mom elk and their baby were the first visitors.
On August 13th, she said, “The brown sow and cubs have discovered the guzzler, they stopped by for a drink and a dip 2 evenings ago. After 4 weeks, it’s time to clean it out. Hopefully by design, I can empty it and tip it to clean it myself. With 2 trips on the ATV with water tank, it’ll be full again. It’s used less than 100 gallons in the last months between animals drinking and evaporation.”
On August 18th, she said, “The word about the new guzzler in the neighborhood is getting around. A dozen elk drank it down 6″ in one night. I heard my first bull elk bugle of the season last night. The rut is on it’s way!” On September 17th, she said, “A bull with 3 dozen cows and calves came through the woods below our house this morning.”
She has videos of deer families (including fawns with spots), and turkey families, as well as a striped skunk dipping into the pool.
