RTD route changes, and new ‘MyRide card’ accounts
Route Changes
Changes will take effect at the start of the service day Sunday, August 21.
The Regional Transportation District (RTD) will implement service changes to select local, regional and FlexRide bus routes.
RTD adjusts its schedule three times a year to address ridership changes, activities such as traffic patterns, economic factors, and customer feedback that affect its system. Some of the changes support increases in ridership, improve on-time performance and increase service reliability. For a complete look at the changes RTD is making, visit the Service Changes page of the website.
Routes Affected
3, 8, 11, 20, 24, 30, 42, 45, 49, 51, 52, 65, 66, 73, 88, 88L, 133, 169, 204, 206, 208, 225, 228,
DASH, JUMP, SKIP, BOLT, LD , NB, Green Mountain FlexRide
In addition to the changes mentioned above, RTD will consolidate stop locations for Route EV, Evergreen/Denver. Given issues that include low ridership numbers at the El Rancho Park-n-Ride, the stop will be decommissioned as of Aug. 21, and customers will be encouraged to use RTD Park-n-Ride locations at Bergen Park or Genesee Park.
New “My Ride” card accounts
September 1st, RTD will have transitioned to a new account-based ticketing system. Customers will need to transfer their current MyRide card accounts via the online transition tool on the RTD website or by visiting any RTD Sales Outlet. The system includes an updated mobile app and customer web portal, a new MyRide card, new validators on buses and rail platforms, improved security, and features like fare capping to ensure customers always get the most value. Beginning July 31, you can request to transfer the balance on existing MyRide card(s) to a new RTD MyRide account via an online tool that will be available on this page.
FARE CAPPING
Fare capping ensures you never pay more than you should on RTD. When you use your MyRide mobile barcode or new MyRide card, 3-Hour Passes will automatically convert to Day and Monthly Passes. Taking a trip to a higher fare zone later in the day? You’ll only pay the difference! Fare capping also applies to individual tokens, so an account holder using their MyRide barcode will accumulate trips separately than those using cards connected to the same account. This way, everyone benefits!
