May 26, 8:30 – 1p.m. – Grand Reopening of Hwy 7 Ceremony = to vehicles (not cyclists). Ceremony will have speakers about this project and other construction. MUST Register. ==The project is expected to end November 2022.==Public can do a bike or van tour after the ceremony May 26==Road opens to vehicles May 30 Monday, Memorial Day. see ARTICLE
May 27, Lyons High School Graduation 2022
May 28, 8:15 – 10 a.m. – new date for postponed “CLEAN UP LYONS! TRASH PICK UP” The Town of Lyons, along with the Sustainable Futures and the Parks and Recreation Commissions, is sponsoring a river, parks, and trail clean up. This is a great opportunity to get involved and make a positive impact on our community. Last spring, the clean up drew over 100 volunteers who collected 166 pounds of recycling, 200 pounds of scrap metal, and 337 pounds of trash. ==== We will meet at Bohn Park near the shelter and restroom building between 8:15 am and 8:30 on Saturday, May 21 and head out from there. Grab a pair of gloves, your hat, some sunscreen, and join us to pick up trash, pull weeds, and do your part to clean up and spruce up the Town’s parks and trails! Plan for about 1.5 hours of service. == At registration, you will be assigned a cleanup area and provided with a waiver form and trash bag. Let’s do this Lyons!
May 28, 9-3 p.m. new date for postponed “Lyons Rocky Mtn Botanic Gardens PLANT SALE” There will be a wide variety of beautiful, tough native plants available for $7 each, sized in 4” pots. Visitors can see the same plants growing in the garden and chat with volunteers about how, where, and why to grow them. We will also have hanging baskets of cheerful annuals available for $35, and RMBG T-shirts for $15. Please come by to enjoy the spring flowers, support the nonprofit that keeps this garden green, and mingle with our plant-loving community. The sale will be held at the Gardens, which is located near the intersection of 4th Ave. and Prospect St., along the access path into Bohn Park (closest parking is along Prospect or 4th).
May 29, final day – drop into R Gallery and Wine Bar and enjoy the Boulder Art Association members “Trees” show. Some Lyons residents are showing there.
May 29, Permaculture Action Day at the Farm —Dance in the dirt to live music from Bloomurian as we plant flowers and trees. We have some amazing projects we are ready to activate on the land; and if we can gather at least 30 people for one day we can make them all happen pretty quickly so they can be enjoyed all season and for years to come! Bring a shovel! Bonus points for wheelbarrows. Our action day is from 10-4 with a lunch break from 12:30-1:30. See their Event day on Facebook for more info.
May 30 – Memorial Day! Remember those military people who fought and/or died for our Freedom!
May 31, 7-8 p.m. “Revealing History” — program by Lyons Redstone Museum for May History Month taking place at the Lyons library. No reservation needed. No fee. The Museum was the recipient of three very faded black and white photographs with the date 1898, which mentioned famous Irving Hale. Follow their story of trying to solve the mystery of who the uniformed men were and why they were in Lyons (includes research and technology). See ARTICLE for full details.

June 1, 4-7 p.m., FUNERAL: Griff Ferguson, Lyons Fire Protection District responder – Celebration of Life on Planet Bluegrass grounds. The Ferguson family requests attendees consider dressing in “camo and other ‘Griffin Approved’ attire. such as work boots, hats, plaid, denim, dirt and well-loved clothing. == (it is recommended Locals walk/bike/cart.) Arrive by 3:45 p.m. please, leave time for parking. == A Full Obituary will be posted in the newspaper in the coming week or so. No dogs allowed. // Our condolences.
June 3 – FUNERAL: Barbara Lee == She worked at Lyons Elementary School for 18 years == she made Lyons her home for 41 years. She spent the last 10 years in Windsor, Colorado with her husband, David. == Her full Obituary will be posted online Thursday, June 2nd.== our condolences == Services will be held at Redeemer Lutheran Church at 7755 Greenstone Trail in Fort Collins, CO 80525 at 2:30 on Friday June 3rd.

June 6 – 11 – Eyes of Freedom – National touring veteran’s exhibit and documentary at Lyons Library- (ARTICLE coming next week.)

You must call the day before by 1 p.m. to place an order (303) 441-1415. The menu is stated on the phone message. Donation of $3 suggested, or what you can afford.
