Many Lyons residents were at Bohn Park for last Saturday’s Winter Wonderland musical performance, Eben Grace and the 89’s live band. It was a great chance to catch up with a few familiar faces to ask the question of the week: Do you believe in luck? Are there incidents where luck just happened?
When asked if she believes in luck, Peggy Story answered,
“I totally believe in luck. My whole life has been luck, all the good stuff, and there’s been some bad, but it turned around to be lucky.”
“I’m lucky that I live here and all the women in this town are wonderful!
And I really love seeing the kids grow up, I think that’s really cool.
And that’s about it!”
When asked why she came out to Bohn Park today Peggy smiled and said, “Because it’s a beautiful day and everybody’s out playing and it’s all good. Yeah.”
Elizabeth Marglin said she believes in luck, “The first way in which we’re all lucky, that people often overlook in their different flavors of misery, is that we have a human incarnation; that’s kind of lucky. Meaning we could have been a dog or a bird or a worm, and there’s nothing wrong with those animals, but we have consciousness, and to have consciousness means we’re capable of creating our destinies, which is luck, so there you have it.” Elizabeth said, “I’m here with my dog and my daughter, enjoying the music, enjoying this beautiful day, enjoying this human incarnation.”
“Well I don’t know, I’ve always been pretty lucky, I do believe in luck,” Marc Hutt said. My old dad used to always say that the harder I worked the luckier I get, so I believe that’s true also. I’ve been lucky my whole life, you know, I got no complaints. I’ve got a great wife and a beautiful family so I’ve been pretty lucky in that regard so yeah, I believe it’s true because I’m a pretty lucky person.”
Marc added, “I’m here with my friend, Mark. He’s one of my guitar students and so we had a lesson earlier and came out to enjoy the music, and so, you know, perfect day. And you know we always like to support our local events, especially when music is involved, And it’s my wife’s birthday, so we are celebrating today (Saturday).”
“Happy Saint Pats.”
