Happy New Year from Your Editor – December 30, 2021

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas weekend!
We all woke up to a Christmas morning snowfall! Maybe it was only an inch, but it was beautiful. The next day there were snow flurries most of the day (again only about an inch accumulated). And, now they are predicting a few inches for New Year’s Eve and Day! Yes “real winter” is here! (Of course, the high mountains have got many “feet” of snow; just this Wednesday, I-70 was closed down due to a 27 car-pile-up… and I’m not going to get into the record-breaking snowfalls across the country…) We’ll happily welcome our picture-perfect few inches of snow in the foothills.
Lyons will start the new year off with the Annual Polar Plunge (only 24 degrees, and snow!) In today’s issue we have a list of all the projects the Town of Lyons has slated. Will you be making your list? Not many do New Year’s Resolutions any more. But they say, if you don’t have a “Dream,” you can’t have a “Dream Come True!”
We are entering our Third Wave of COVID lockdown/and precautions, but we have better treatments now, we have a vaccine booster that brings up the protection to around 95%, we have a variant that is milder (rare hospitalization), and pills that block the ability of the SARS-CoV-2 virus to replicate. So, hope is on the horizon. What other things do you HOPE FOR ON THE HORIZON?
Love, Peace & Joy, from Kathleen Spring, Your Editor

1 Year in Review = 2021
To see “One Year in Review”, go to our November “1 Year Anniversary” issue commemorating the first year of the LYONS RECORDER, under the directorship of Kathleen Spring. — The main things that have been talked about since then are the new proposed hotel, and the Krueger fire, plus the Holiday parade in town.
