Crowds celebrated the Holidays with the annual Lights Parade and craft fair

Little things like a change in the parade route (from Broadway to High Street) and a fire ban cancelling the fireworks did not dampen the enthusiasm of Lyons Folks in attending the weekend’s festivities. The Holiday Artisan Market, on Saturday and Sunday, at the Lyons Elementary School gymnasium, was pleasantly full of “masked” shoppers, who enjoyed being able to buy Holiday gifts close to home that were of high quality, hand-made, and unique. Then Saturday evening, the streets were lined, four people deep, with both kids and adults, to see the Lyons Light Parade, with lit up floats, golf carts, trucks, and more.
Some of the shops were open for snacking or window-shopping, and the bars had live-music and food served on their patios. Santa visited both the Market and the Parade, to the delight of the kids, who got a photo souvenir. And, successful fundraisers: the Middle/High School teens sold their home-made chili during the Market, and the Lyons Redstone Museum sold their traditional home-made candy and baked goods during the Parade.
