BAR/restaurant businesses — renovated, expanded (October Business Month)
~~~~October is Lyons Recorder’s Intro to Your Town’s Businesses Month~~~~
A-Lodge, Main Street, Lyons – expanding
A-Lodge Lyons (Lyons Adventure Lodge), 338 Main Street, opened up before the pandemic. It is currently the only hotel in downtown Lyons. It offers combinations of queen, king, bunk bed, and/or pullout couch. Full kitchens and living rooms. Rooms are $129, and locals can ask for a discount when friends and relatives come visiting.
They have bought two adjacent lots and have turned the front part of it into a bar, with live music (or a DJ), fire pit, a food truck (FED-Boulder), and occasional reserved farm-to-table meals. A more detailed review will be done when they expand their operation to the rest of their new property next spring. They are working towards being open more consistently Wednesday, Thursday and Friday evenings, and Sunday brunch.
Oskar Blues & Grill, remodels interior
During the 2020-COVID year, the dining room was closed, and management at Oskar Blues & Grill, 303 Main Street, deep cleaned the place, and renovated it, making it more simple, and modern. Currently, all orders are still taken at the front window facing Main Street (no table wait service). People can order carry-out, or sit in the patio, the dining room, or the back porch. The basement is still closed, and no live music is scheduled for the near future. Their most popular meals are battered fish and chips, and scrimp & crawfish etoufee. They are open seven days a week, 11 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. They also provide space for special events.
Pizza Bar 66, expansion
Pizza 66, 30 Main Street, had Jared McCain (Excavating) come in and help redesign the space behind their restaurant, turning it into a picnic patio, with an area for music. It was good timing for the changes that COVID-19 restrictions created, so people could eat outside safely. Both the front dining area and the back room are still being utilized for fun games (trivia, karaoke, Open Mike), sports (Broncos, pool, etc) and live music activities. They are open seven days, and their hours fluctuate… generally, opening at 4p.m. weekdays and 12 noon weekends, and staying open till 8 or 10 p.m. most nights. Be sure to check their Facebook page for current hours, and special events.
