Contact these restaurants in Lyons for more information about music, and fun activities like, trivia, Poker Wednesday, acoustic jam sessions, Karaoke Friday, Open Mike, Art Fair, …and, of course, LIVE MUSIC! and more being offered this summer — as they are able to hire more staff, more things will be added — The Stone Cup, Mojo Taqueria, Pizza Bar 66, A-Lodge Lyons (coming soon), Oskar Blues Bar and Grill and Main Stage Brewing.
===ONGOING THIS WEEK===
Tuesday and Thursday – 12 noon – Boulder County Aging serves lunch at the Lyons Senior Center (Lyons seniors, ages 60 and up). You must call the day before by 1 p.m. to place an order (303) 441-1415. Donation of $3 suggested. (Guests pay $8.25) *NEW* Either order a carry out box, or come in and socialize and meet other seniors!
Wednesdays – 3 to 5 p.m. – Food Pantry for those in need. Contact LEAF for more information.
SENIOR EXERCISE – 11 a.m. to 12:00 (new time 9/30/21), free, LaVern Johnson Park. Free. For Lyons seniors 55+ Contact Lramsey@townoflyons.com for details. === On Tuesdays we do circuit training, alternating between 1 minute aerobic exercises, 1 minute exercises with hand weights, and some balance work. On Thursdays we start out with a 30 minute walk in the park and surrounding areas. Both classes end with some gentle yoga. This class is FREE for seniors and parking is also free at the park during the class.

====October is Conflict Resolution Month.===The Lyons Community Church has a roster of programs, and the Estes Park Library has weekly programs. All Free. SEE OUR ARTICLE next week for more details.
October 1 – 9:45 a.m. DIG group final weeding. LaVern Johnson Park, near zipline. Final 2 hours of weed pulling, to help avoid the Town’s use of pesticides. Plus, socialize over coffee and weed tips. Kids welcome. Thank you for keeping our parks weed and pesticide free! all summer.
October 1 – 11:30 am -1:30 pm -Octoberfest for Lyons Seniors – Quarry Shelter at LaVern Johnson Park, 600 Park Dr, Seniors and Caregivers only. Brought to you by the Boulder County Area Agency on Aging and the Town of Lyons SR Recreation, this fun event will celebrate the arrival of fall with a picnic in the park along with some games and Oktoberfest trivia. Come sip a beer (of the root variety), enjoy some food, visit with friends and play some games. We can’t wait to see you! Please let us know you’re coming. October 2 – 10 a.m. – “Women’s March for Rights” – Sandstone Park – Join a group forming in Lyons, or go to Denver. Here is a link to marches across Coloardo: www.act.womensmarch.com – you can sign up there, too, and get info on nationwide protests. This March was stimulated by recent laws taking away women’s right to chose to get an abortion, particularly in the state of Texas.
October 2-3 – Estes Park Elk Fest – Bond Park; Enjoy vendors, live music, food. www.Epelkfest.com
October 2 – 3rd – beginning at 9:30 a.m. “2021 Lunancy XIII – local competitive disc golf event, Longmont. Includes three courses. All ages. The game is sold out but spectators invited, and there is a carnival. Continues on October 3. October 3 – Sunday – LYONS MUSEUM: final day to visit the Lyons Redstone history museum until next spring. Open 9:30 to 4:30 pm. on Saturday, and 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. on Sunday. Lots of displays and 100s of used books, and pretty much every local Front Range history book you could want. Stock up as Christmas gifts! Some magnets and Halloween/Thanksgiiving decor items too!

October 7- 8- 9th – Annual DENVER BEER FESTIVAL: The Great American Beer Festival (GABF) is held every year in Denver, Colorado. Huge diversity of American beers side by side with leading beers from all over the world is offered…Denver Convention Center.
October 9 – Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. VINTAGE AND ANTIQUE MARKET: featuring a wide array of antique and vintage dealers including: art, furniture, collectibles, primitives, vintage, jewelry, fine jewelry, toys and much more! Admission. Boulder Fairgrounds, Longmont.

October 30 – Saturday, Spooktacular – more details to come. Town staff is working to plan a safe, outdoor family friendly (and COVID aware) Lyons Spooktacular Parade and events! Venue is the Lyons Elementary School and both the Town and school will follow COVID protocols in place.
October 30 – fundraiser party – Rave to Grave 2021 – Mark your calendars: Community favorite, Rave to the Grave, is happening in-person on October 30 beginning at 7 p.m. Join us in Lavern Johnson Park in Lyons, CO for this free event (suggested donation of $20) benefiting LEAF. Galactic Dance Party; live music; costumes are encouraged.
