Another week gone by. It has been a very hot week with cooler weather and some showers expected with snow higher up. It was colder last night-Fall is here..

The St. Vrain Invitational Cross County meet was held at Lyons High School and Bohn Park on Friday Sept 17 and Sat., Sept 18th; Lyons Middle School boys and girls each came out second place held Friday, with the High School races Saturday,with 800 runners. . Lyons boys placed first in 3A\2A Boys, with Individuals Tyler Ball and Quinn Gregg as #2 .
GIRLS’ VOLLEYBALL is in the Mile High League, with Avery Joy and Kayla Valente receiving Season Stat Leaders;
Visitors this past week were from: Denver, Ft. Collins, Boulder, Longmont, Grand Lake, Plattsburg, Mo, Shoreview, Mn, Odessa Fla, Melbe, Ida, New Richmond, Wi; Wichita & Olatha, Ks; Cincinnati Ohio, College Station&; San Marcos, Tx; as well as Lyons. and Ronald Hilton, Jr, who graduated from Lyons in 1980;
The Lyons Elementary PTO meets this Thursday, at School Library, at 5:30pm.
WE ARE THINKING OF Walter Kinderman, who is now in a re-hab in Boulder after falling several times, and to Ray Thomas who celebrated his 98th birthday last week, who has been in the hospital lately due to a fall.. He is in Re-Hab in Loveland

with a meeting schedule this week with the CEMEX committee;

A new grant fro DOLA is available to businesses
ADU’s in town are encouraged. See the Building inspector, if you would like to change your outbuilding into living quarters. Eleven ADU’s have been approved by the town the past year;
The Board approved the change of zoning from Commercial to Industrial on the McCain property to the east of the Town Hall, and South of the Library; An Agreement to be signed to put up fencing and signage around his property.
—- The Town voted to receive the $2 million grant to put a trail from Lyons to the Foothills Junction, Planner Strom stated they have received the approval of Clark’s Hardware, three ditches, and Left Hand Water Co. and will need a match $152.000.. .
It was reported that the tower at Eagle Canyon has been taken down but they may put it up across the street; on CDOT land; however, It would not be on town property but they are using the town’s electricity.
—- The Board will take in-kind Dedications in lieu of the Park Fee required by the Town;
—- Resolutions passed were: 1-To allocate American Rescue Plan Act funds for certain Town Projects; 2-To ratify the IGA with CDOT for the St. Vrain Regional Trail Extension; 3.-Approve the third amendment to the Amendable Letter of Understanding for the Farm Project; 4.-approved the first Amendment to the Utility Easement agreement with the owners of 4170 Ute Highway; 5-approved an agreement with Twin City Security, Inc for Lyons Parks and 6-a grant from the State Historical Fund to replace the Ute Trail Marker; 7.-and approved the first amendment to the Amendable Letter of Understanding for the PBG Ranch property;8.-a resolution to recommend that Boulder County will collaborate with the Town of Lyons to Review Connecting trail Space via the Hatrock\Corona Hill area; Ernest Strenge of Boulder County Open Space said they were willing to work with the town. 9-The Town plans to talk to CDOT about replacing the crosswalks over 3rd & Main; and 3rd & Broadway; and Miley Street; 10-for the Stormwater improvements to Martinez Associates; 11-Clearing the Vegetation for the 4th Avenue Pedestrian Bridge; 12.-Ratifying the DOLA Man Street Open form Business Grant; 13-an agreement between the Town and Boulder County and Recorder for the administration of the 2021 Election; 14-
Trying to find a RV lot for people’s RV, who can’t park them in their driveway, etc. 15-Approved services for the construction of the 4th Avenue Pedestrian Bridge, Trail connections and street improvements with Anderson Bridges, LLC; 16-With Clarion Associates for a Comprehensive Plan Update; 17- An Eastern Corridor Advisory Committee is to be formed; 18-Approving Amendment to the IGA Transportation Program; 19-Accepted a $10K Marketing Grant for the Colo Tourism office.;20- Discussed where to place the Solar-Energy-Dog park, 10 acres to south of Dog Park, other;

LYONS VOLLEYBALL: Congratulations! The Lyons girls hosted Heritage Christian in Volleyball Tuesday evening and won in 5 games, but won. Winning the first,-25-17; losing 2nd 23-25 and third-20-25; winning the 4th 25-12, and winning last-5th game; 15-13; They play Dawson at home next Thursday, 9\30\21. Games are at 4pm, 5pm, and 6pm…
—-The Lyons Community Church announces that there will be No Morning Service on Sunday, Oct. 3rd, but will hold an Outdoor Service from 4-6pm, at the LaVern Johnson Park Shelter. All invited.

OBITUARY——MILLARD C. BASHOR , born to Galen and Priscilla Bashor of Hygiene, Colo., Oc. 7 1930,
He graduated from High school and enlisted in the United States Air Force where he was a mechanic. He worked on the family farm, married Gloria Tredway and moved to Barnesville, Co., where he raised cattle and farmed until his death; He is preceded in death by his parents, Galen & Priscilla Bashor, siblings, Duane, Warren and Shirley Bashor , Mary Lou Bashor Jackson and his wife, Gloria. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Joel and Dava Bashor, three granddaughters, and 9 great-grandchildren, and many nephews and cousins.
The celebration of life will be held at 12:00pm, Sat, Sept. 25th, at 2021 at Sunset Memorial Gardens; Donations will be donated to Hospice or Union Colony Marines. Sympathy may be shared at www.stoddardsunset.com.
