Z TRIP VOUCHER PROGRAM- To help those “in need” of transportation” == NEW DETAILS: z-Trip vouchers are good any day of the week from 5 am to 7 pm. It is a year round program. Each ride must start or end in Lyons. Vouchers are good for travel to/from Boulder and Longmont but not between the two. TOWN BOARD MEETINGS
Work on the 4th & Evans Pedestrian Bridge, is at 30% design. The bridge will be 120 feet long and 8 foot wide, It is started this fall and finished in 2022..Grants are from FEMA and Safe Routes to Schools.
The LYONS TOWN BOARD was on Zoom July 6th, . with the following:
—– Neal Evers was appointed to the PCDC Commission;
A Resolution of the town of Lyons accepting public improvements at the 2nd & Park PUD;approving a construction agreement with DeFalco Construction Company for the Bohn Park Stormwater Improvement Project at Red Hill Gulch;
Volunteers of all ages will be needed to pull weeds around Lyons streets. Contact Dave Cosgrove this spring. 823 8250
Dedication of the Second Avenue bridge is scheduled for July 8th.at 10am, with Congressmen John Hickenlooper and Joe LeGuse will be present, . and will open soon with the dedication of the bridge in June. Folks are wanting 2 four-way stops, sidewalks, walking lane, etc. from the Parking lot into the park
. The town has joined the State for winter tourism, and accepted the a Go-Co grant $282,903 for the 2nd avenue parking, restrooms, work in Bohn Park, and more camping in the LaVern Park; Action to begin soon.

– —- The Lyons Redstone Museum opened June 1st and be open daily thru Oct. 3rd, going by Social distancing and wearing a mask..Folks are invited to Stop by. Family gatherings are welcome,where visitors can go to another room..Due to COVID the museum was not allowed to open all last summer, new displays have been set up, projects have progressed.
——– $73,000 in “No interest” loans thru the town are still available for businesses.
==== PENDING: Negotiations by the Town and Ditch Companies for the trail down Hwy 36. The Town agreed to accept the grants available for the matching funds of 12% and 13% on the grants available for the St. Vrain Corridor Regional Trail, going east of McConnell Drive, on past the eastern corridor and meet the Longmont’s Greeway Trail. on Highway 36, which the board passed to accept. Mayor Angelo challenged the staff to find more funds instead of using the funds now budgeted for in-town road work.
PROJECTS: Redoing the NE corner of 4th and Main includes more businesses on the first floor and adding 7 rental units on the 2nd floor. Progress is being made as the Redstone is moving west to the Green Goo space. Check trail by Cemetery, ……………………………………………………………….. …………………………
