While some institutions have started to release their deadline for 2021, others have paused or indefinitely delayed their programming. Still, other arts institutions have formed to provide relief funds for artists.
Each year we send our team on a mission to find the best art opportunities, artist grants, and calls-for-entry for the upcoming year. This year looked a little different.

The Dance Archive is accepting nominations for the 2021 Legends of Dance, an annual event that honors people and organizations that have made outstanding contributions to dance in the Rocky Mountain West. Nominees may include dancers, choreographers, teachers, artistic directors, patrons, and promoters whose careers span years of proven importance. For information or to nominate, contact Joan Brown.
PlatteForum’s Artist Residency program is open for application. The PlatteForum approach — teaming Resident Artists with youth and the community — makes a valuable contribution to the community’s cultural discourse, fosters personal growth for the artist, and positively impacts the lives of participating individuals.

Grants and Awards. These programs provide funding, support and recognition for artists, creative business and organizations.
Colorado Artist Relief Fund
The Colorado Artist Relief Fund supports artists experiencing economic distress as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. The fund will provide grants of up to $1,000 to individual artists living in Colorado, working in multiple disciplines including visual, digital, film, music, performing, teaching, etc., and whose incomes are being adversely affected due to cancellation of events, classes, performances, and other creative work. This program will prioritize lower-income artists and artists who have no other source of income.

Boulder Arts & Humanities
We are seeking proposals for a Boulder Arts Week Contractor with experience in project management, media communications, and arts administration to implement Boulder Arts Week 2022. The selected contractor will manage the project with guidance from staff from the Office of Arts and Culture, oversee the Steering Committee, budget, marketing, promotional outreach, volunteers, surveying, and reporting.

The City of Boulder Fire Station 3 Public Art Selection Panel is seeking an artist or artist team for a site-specific, tribute public artwork to narrate dignity and respect to all who dedicate their lives to public service. The tribute will specifically acknowledge two Boulder firefighters that gave their lives while on duty. The goal is to narrate hope, transformation, and support to firefighters, their families, the Boulder Community, and safe communities. This opportunity is part of the relocation and reconstruction of Fire Station 3. This public art opportunity is exclusively for Colorado artists and has a total budget of $65,000.
