Tuesday and Thursday – 12:15 p.m. – Boulder County Aging serves a boxed lunch to-go at the Lyons Senior Center (Lyons seniors, ages 65 and up). You must call the day before by 1 p.m. to place an order (303) 441-1415.
Wednesdays – 3 to 5 p.m. – Food Pantry for those in need. Drive up to the Lyons Community Church front doors, and someone will come out to your car and help you. Wear a mask and stay in your car. Contact LEAF for more information. **NOTE** The service returns to in-person pick up, inside the building on June 1st. Tale a number, and relax in your car.
Wednesday – 11 a.m. LYONS WEDNESDAY WALKERS: The Town of Lyons Recreation Department = small group of seniors, 55 years and older, meets at the Senior Center at 11 a.m. and walk to a park and do some light exercises. Contact Lramsey@townoflyons.com

A 360-foot traveling Vietnam War memorial wall will be installed at Veterans Plaza on Thursday, and be up through Monday. === There will be multiple activities each day, such as reading of the names. June 1 – 3–4 p.m. –Vaccine Anxiety: Common Reactions and Coping Skills by Mental Health Partners Many people are facing new questions and stressors associated with the vaccine and living in a partially-vaccinated world, which we can call vaccine anxiety. In this presentation, we will discuss (and normalize!) what reactions to vaccine anxiety looks like, and discuss positive ways to cope with this new feeling.

June 3 – 6–7 p.m. Forum Panel RACIAL JUSTICE (free/online) speakers are from our CO government, and from various groups, like restaurant, youth, schools, programmer, and more. Accomplishing equity and racial justice goes beyond reforming our criminal justice system. There are a lot of issues to tackle when it comes to racial justice, and we’re going to tackle what those issues are, what our elected officials are doing about it, and how you can be part of the change to achieve true equity in this country! June 14 – 1-2 p.m. – For Lyons Seniors – The topic for June is “Fat can be Heart Healthy”. Fresh Conversations is an evidence-based nutrition education program focused on timely nutrition topics presented monthly. Fresh Conversations is led by Patti Murphy, RDN. (Boulder County Aging Office, Nutritionist) Program is held virtually through Zoom. Dechen Hawk: Live music.== Artisan Market: Join us for a day of locally sourced art and gifts along the river. Local artisans will sell quality crafts, jewelry, photograph, pottery, glass, and textile arts. This event will run in conjunction with a Mini-Farmer’s Market, and will feature live music. Social distancing and all covid-19 regulations must be adhered to at all times. (NOTE this is in place of GOOD OLD DAYS; this is a Town sponsored event). June 19 – “Art Trading Cards” group returns at Lyons library for monthly exchange. (Article coming June 10)
June 19 – 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. – First Annual Lyons Garden Tour – tickets now available. The Lyons Garden Club is pleased to announce its first annual Garden Tour, Mountain Blooms . The variety of gardens on the tour will offer inspiration to everyone who visits them. It’s an opportunity to learn what plants thrive in our climate and explore outstanding creative spaces and gain fun landscaping tips. There will be about 11 homes open, with a self-guided map. The tickets are free, but we encourage you to support the club with your donation. ***Having trouble signing up? NEW: You can show up the day of the event to buy tickets, but it might be sold out.***

CAMERON PEAKS RESTORATION: There will be several opportunities for people to join in and help, beginning in JUNE. Mark your calendar. – ck. Out their web page
The Cameron Peak Fire caused trail damage to over 100 miles of trails in the Canyon Lakes Ranger District. The public work days this year will consist mainly of removing downed trees from the trail so that the trail may be opened and be safe for the public. Some of the work will be physically challenging but much of the work can be done by anyone of generally good physical shape. PWV will provide all tools and crew leaders for each work crew. Further information will be provided for the specific work day, including trail location and other logistics.
