THIS IS THE 40TH ANNIVERSARY OF the CHEJ (Center for Health, Environment & Justice that Lois Gibbs started during her fight against the school and houses at her home at Love Canal in Illinois in 1981 which was built on top of the hazardous waste canal, causing the children to be sick. After years of fighting, they finally built more houses and a new school elsewhere, and formed the CHEJ to help such causes. (Am TV Program for the 40th year). This happened during the time they wanted to build a reservoir on Dowe Flats over the Syntex Waste Dump and pipe in the water to Lyons. Of which Lyons fought the a dam, The Syntex Co, finally cleaned out the waste and old cars in that dump. You will see vent pipes sticking out of that spot, across from the Rabbit Mountain Trailhead Gate.
