Our hearts and prayers go out to the Colorado community on the deaths and horror that took place on Monday, March 22, 2021. The Lyons Recorder will list here over the coming week any proven legitimate organizations that are reaching out to help the community survive this tragedy.

The City of Boulder invites the entire Boulder wide community – and the world – to join together to honor the victims of the Boulder shooting.
Together, we will honor those lost and hold space for the loved ones they leave behind. Please join us at 8 p.m. on Saturday, March 27, 2021 as we come together as a community. We want to create an opportunity to safely mourn in this difficult time.
When : Starting Saturday, March 27 at 8 p.m. for 10 days.
What : On the first night, step outside and take 10 slow breaths, followed by 10 minutes of silence. Each breath and each minute is to honor the lives lost in the tragic Boulder shooting. We invite you to continue this practice as you are able and to put a light or electric candle in your window each night through April 5, 2021.
Who : Everyone. The impact of this tragedy stretches across our community and nation. If you love Boulder or just want to support us in this difficult time, we invite you to join in this collective moment.
How to Help Those Suffering
COMMUNITY FOUNDATION OF BOULDER COUNTY:
Community Foundation Boulder County has established a fund to support the victims, their families, and our entire community in dealing with and processing this heartbreaking event. We do so in partnership with the City of Boulder, Rose Community Foundation, Together Colorado (a faith coalition including Westview Church, Congregation Har Hashem, Congregation Bonai Shalom, First Congregational Church and Boulder Mennonite Church), and the Colorado Healing Fund.
The Boulder County Crisis Fund will support the needs of those directly affected and the needs of our community to heal.

Our beloved community is feeling unsafe after experiencing such a tragic loss of life. Today (March 24th) at 1pm, LEAF’s mental health therapist, Cherie Maureaux, is hosting a virtual Zoom where we can come together to grieve, mourn, and connect. Please join us during this difficult time as we honor ourselves, the fallen, the families, and support personnel involved. Our hearts and thoughts are with everyone affected.
