Another week gone by in this New Year of 2021. A little snow, a little warm weather, but mostly cold…brrrr. I hope you are all leaving your water running..Some folks have had frozen pipes.

Ice Skating is open, and is going good. It was closed for a few days last week when it was warm. Volunteers to help clean and prepare the ice are needed..Contact the Town as to what to do . Masks are required when you can’t maintain 6 ft space from another person outside your household.
RECREATION TEACHERS NEEDED: If you have an idea and skills to teach an outdoor class, contact Lisa Ramsey at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information. Teachers are needed.
SPRING RECREATON Home games will be on our own field for the first time since the flood. Skateboarding at the new skatepark, Mountain biking at the dirt bike park and on local trails, and ongoing fitness classes at Lavern Johnson Park, are part of the action this spring. The River Church is serving Monday night suppers in boxes from 5 to 5:30 p.m. in front of the Senior Center, for those who need it. Call the church for more information; we don’t know if they will continue this for all of February or March.

Safety rules apply to all 13 of the SVVSD schools; All safety issues and improvements at the schools are being made: For in-person, when allowed: they have Increased the air flow; added custodial sanitizing, wear masks, schedule breaks; hand sanitizing, social distancing, fewer students will be in a room and in lunchroom-1\2 marked on each side, classrooms-desks 6′ apart; stairways-marked right side both up and down; lunch lines-stay on right side.
Free lunches for kids 1-18 years old will continue until May 26th.
Curbside pickup at Lyons Middle Senior High School is Monday-Thursday 10:00 a.m. – 10:45 a.m. (No Curbside on days schools are closed)
Friday curbside pickup is 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. (No Curbside when schools closed)
Plans for redoing the NE corner f4th and Main includes more businesses on the first floor iand adding 7 rental units on the 2nd floor. The Town has applied for a grant for the 36\66 Corridor Trail. UPCOMING: Check fire hydrants as to water pressure; the water problems at Ed Bruder’s home; kids Hike & Bike Trail; Dr Cog funding, Student on Town Board, form a Cemex committee and a committee on the Planet Bluegrass contract; Check trail by Cemetery, Honeywell Legal action, Historic Preservation Committee to meet with Planning Commission.
