Old Man Winter bike rally & run, hosted by Lyons

The Town of Lyons will soon host the 7th annual Old Man Winter Rally on February 6 to 14, 2021. This ‘epic winter adventure’ kicks off the running and cycling season in Colorado and is an event that athletes look forward to every year.
The Old Man Winter Rally is a very popular winter cycling and running event, known for its unique mixed terrain courses around Boulder County. The 2021 version of the event will be a bit different than in past years, but still allow for a fun event experience. The courses will be open from Saturday February 6 to Sunday February 14, allowing for the number of riders and runners to be dispersed (social distanced). The event coordinators worked with Boulder County to come up with a modified format to encourage safety and comply with COVID-19 restrictions.
“Mask Up! Bundle Up!” The event offers Colorado’s best mixed terrain for running and/or riding. Riders can choose 50KM or 100KM of dirt, snow, climbs, and thrills. Runners can crush the 10KM course that provides the Best of Lyons, CO — Single Track Trails, Red Rock Canyon, and Gravel Paths!
The coordinators will have Aid Stations with great food and hydration on course during the weekends. All participants will receive a Ticket for hot meal, and a cold beer in Lyons. Everyone can compete and celebrate their adventure in a way they are comfortable.
The CEMEX facility will also serve as the finish line on the bike course along the Ute Highway. There will be a big CEMEX vehicle to let riders know when they can relax after riding hard on the 50km or 100km courses.
Registration is currently open at http://www.OldManWinterRally.com and spots are expected to fill up, making the scholarship spots even more valuable.
