
Former Lyons resident, Robert (Bob) G. Horst
passed away on Monday, December 14, 2020. Robert attended school in Lyons.
He is predeceased by his wife Susan (French) Horst, who he is surely now joined again and sharing a dance with. Bob was born 5/30/1935 in Keensburg, CO to Henry and Florence Horst. Bob spent most of his adult life driving a cement mixer for Flatirons Pre-mix/ Western Mobile in Boulder. He is survived by four children, Dennis, Denise (Randy), Allan (Stephanie), Stacey, 10 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. He is also survived by his two brothers Roy (Bette) and Victor (Peggy). Bob loved camping, driving his dune buggy and spending time with his family. Bob served in the Colorado National Guard from 1955-1963 and was a long time Longmont resident.
He was taken away from his family suddenly by Covid-19 complications. There will not be any services at this time, if you would like to honor Bob and his family please be safe, stay healthy and wear a mask to protect against this virus. Any monetary contributions can be made as a tribute donation at the Alzheimer’s Association website in Robert’s name.
NOTES from LaVern Johnson: two brothers graduated from Lyons, and he may have quit to join the service..they lived here for years., he married Rhonda Harkalis/French’s husband’s sister, Susan..they lived on the corner of East Main and 2nd for years.
