August 26/September – Lindsay Wolf started a new Facebook group: Lyons Gardeners — more info to come! “Lyons gardeners can swap garden related knowledge and musings”
September 1 – Two year anniversary of co-owners of Pizza Bar 66. They also opened their new sandstone patio behind the restaurant building.
September 1 – Seven students from Lyons Middle/Senior High School and the St. Vrain Valley School District students who placed young fry fish in Roony Pond as part of a multi-step process to replenish the endangered species into the St. Vrain River, working with the Colorado Parks and Wildlife, Boulder County Parks and Open Space and the Ocean First Institute.
September 3 – The newest version of the Lyons Recorder begins publication!
September 5 – Free streaming concert by Arthur Lee Land Trio, featuring Tyler Adams & Charlie Rose Music on a property high above Lyons.
Setpember 5 – The Band Wagon did its last roll this year. Joe Kuckla and Irons in the Fire played approximately 4-7pm. They hit the confluence area and around Stickney area. The ride was generously sponsored by Spirit Hound distillers
September 6 – A group of locals enjoyed a drumming circle in Lyons Labyrinth.
September 6 – Trail Ridge Road in Rocky Mt National Park was closed due to smoke from the Cameron fire blocking views. Smoke traveled to Lyons’ skies.
September 6 – Two year anniversary of Bella la Creama – They got a shipment of 2,000 pounds of cream; and will be closed for the following week as they culture, churn and pack! They’ll be coming out with some new selections, new hours and menu items soon.
September 7 – Lyons Redstone Museum concludes its summer season, without being open due to COVID-19 requirements. But it releases its new Cemetery virtual exhibit (not a video) online: https://virmuze.com/m/lyons-redstone-museum/
September 11 – Deadline to get your Grant Proposals in to the Lyons Community Foundation (must be a 501(c)3 organization)
September 11 – seven year anniversary of the 2013 Great Flood.
The Town’s Arts & Humanities Council will unveil the Bell of Renewal sculpture. A public celebration will take place when COVID-19 is under control, next year. It is part of an unofficial reopening of Bohn Park. (see article our Town news section)
September 12-13 – Spirit Hound Distillers releases its whisky (single malt) from its original #1 Barrel

September 25 – Opening Night for the 6th annual Lyons Film Festival at the Lyons Den from 5-7 p.m. Free but reservations are required (up to 50 people). The full festival will take place virtually. More information in an article in next week’s edition.
September 30 – last day to complete the Census. You can do it online, by phone, or wait for a person to come to your door. The Town of Lyons counts on you being counted!
October 9 – Colorado Voting Ballots to be mailed.
