On March 14, I visited with many of the businesses along Main Street, and was very impressed at the steps they are taking to protect the public and their employees. They are taking the situation seriously and want to be of service to the community.
There are also common sense steps customers can take to minimize exposure to risk.
1. Wash or sanitize your hands as you enter the business. Bring your own hand sanitizer if you can, as many businesses are struggling to acquire supplies and need to prioritize their employees.
2. Don’t enter businesses if you or anyone in your family feels ill. Find someone to shop for you or call the business and see if they offer delivery services.
3. Don’t touch store merchandise unless you are going to purchase it.
4. Bring your own pen to use when signing credit card slips.
Thank you for supporting our local businesses. I believe they are doing their very best to create and maintain a safe environment.
Your mayor, Connie Sullivan
