The Lyons Area Chamber of Commerce (LACC) is offering two venues to help Lyons businesses during the COVID-19 crisis.
First, all local businesses–Chamber members or not–are asked to post, in their own words, what they are doing to protect their customers and employees during this time. This is not just restaurants, who have largely switched to take-out service, but also gift stores, car repair shops, and more. Gateway Automotive, for example, is providing “contactless” service: Vehicles can be dropped off before, during, or after normal operating hours, with keys dropped through the mail slot in the front door and invoices paid over the phone.
Second, the Chamber has introduced a Pay It Forward program to encourage what Lyons does best: coming together and supporting our community. The first six people who email admin@lyonschamber.org will be given $50 on two conditions:
–The person must use the $50 at one of our local businesses.
–The person must then pay it forward by giving another $50 to someone else with these same two conditions.
The Chamber asks that you use social media to show what you are using your $50 for and to tag the LACC and the business or businesses you choose to support. The Chamber will update the post on Facebook once all six $50’s are claimed. The money will be distributed via Venmo or whatever method best suits the individual.
Please feel free to use the the attached photo to continue this Lyons Pay It Forward campaign on your own.

There are many ways to support our local businesses. When you support local businesses, you are supporting your neighbors and your town. Please do your part to help our community.
Notice to members: the March Social was postponed.
