While schools are closed to prevent the spreading of the COVID-19 virus, St. Vrain Valley School District meals are still available for pickup in Lyons, Hygiene, and nine other schools.
Starting on Monday, March 16, St. Vrain Valley Schools will be opening 11 food pickup sites where students, families, and staff can receive lunch and breakfast food items. The daily pick-up window for Lyons High School is from noon to 12:30 pm and at Hygiene Elementary School from 11 am-11:30 am. According to the website, meals will not be available during Spring Break, but services will resume on Monday, March 30 if school closures extend beyond Spring Break. Update March 30: By executive order from Governor Polis, all schools in St. Vrain, will be closed through April 30.
Other food assistance in Lyons is available through the Lyons Emergency Assistance Fund and Meals on Wheels.
