The Lyons Arts and Humanities Commission (LAHC) is excited to announce that it will now be managing two tandem quarterly art show series in 2020: The continuing Quarterly Town Hall Art Show series and the new Quarterly Lyons Regional Library Show series.

The LAHC’s Quarterly Town Hall Art Show series will continue in the Shirley F. Johnson Council Chambers room as themed shows (wall art only) that are open to Lyons-area artists of all ages, abilities, and mediums, and their community-friendly interpretations of said themes. Artists may submit up to five ready-to-wall-hang pieces for each of the four shows. Works may include but are not limited to paintings, photography, collages, prose, poetry, printed material, and cartoons. Artists will be provided with a sign-off sheet and placard for each piece, upon which artists will add the title, size, medium, artist name, city, state, pricing, preferred means of contact, and website address if desired. All artwork should also have this same information on its reverse side.

The proposed Quarterly Town Hall Art Show themes and dates to note are:

If any local musicians, performers, or culinary purveyors are interested in providing entertainment, appetizers, or beverages at the opening receptions, please contact Arielle Hodgson at ahodgson@townoflyons.com. Oskar Blues kindly supported the LAHC’s events last year with finger foods in exchange for promotion and encouragement for event attendees to dine at their restaurant.

If you or someone you know might be interested in becoming involved with the LAHC or being considered for a showcase in 2021, please contact Lauren Click, the LAHC’s chair, at laurenmclick@gmail.com.
